YOUR TRUE POTENTIAL

is our passion

Our Mindful team brings together

depth, skill and attentive care.

How We Work

Our work is collaborative, attentive, and shaped around you. Sessions are guided by presence rather than a preset agenda, allowing space for what matters most to emerge.

Our work together may include:

  • Identifying emotional and relational patterns

  • Noticing what unfolds in the present moment

  • Understanding how past experiences inform current choices

  • Creating conditions for clarity, movement, and change

The practice is also a training ground.

Mindful NYC develops early-career clinicians who are learning to do what cannot be taught in a textbook: to hear what is not being said. To sit with ambiguity without rushing toward resolution. To hold the full field — cultural, somatic, relational, systemic — without collapsing it into a single therapeutic framework.

Our associates are supervised clinicians working within the practice under Yoon Im’s direct mentorship. They carry the same commitment: that the work begins not with technique but with presence. Not with knowing, but with the willingness to not know — and to stay in that territory long enough for something genuine to emerge.

What We Train For.

Clinical skill is necessary. It is not sufficient.

We train for perceptual range — the capacity to track what is happening inside a person, between them and another, and in the systems they move through, simultaneously. We train for cultural fluency — not the surface-level competency of checking demographic boxes, but the deeper intelligence that comes from understanding how identity is inherited, enforced, and defended. We train for the discipline of restraint — the willingness to not speak when silence is doing more important work than any intervention could.

The clinicians who train here learn to listen the way the practice listens: for the conversations underneath.

Supervision & Mentorship.

Supervision at Mindful NYC is not case consultation. It is the practice of learning to see yourself inside the clinical relationship — your patterns, your inheritance, your defended places — so that what you carry does not become what your client endures.

Yoon Im supervises with the same directness she brings to clinical work. What is working. What is not. What the clinician is avoiding and why. The supervision relationship mirrors what we ask of every therapeutic relationship: honesty over comfort, clarity over accommodation, presence over performance.

Fees & Insurance

We invite clients to approach therapy as an investment in their well-being.

Mindful Psychotherapy Services is not an in-network insurance provider. Many clients are able to receive reimbursement through out-of-network benefits after meeting their annual deductible. We’re happy to discuss fees and help you understand your insurance options during an initial consultation.
